MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is committed to the peace process, reiterating during his 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA) that the government will honor all peace agreements and their terms, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said Tuesday.

"We have a President who understands and values the importance of pushing forward and building on the gains of the comprehensive peace process. He just showed in this 2024 SONA his determination to fully implement all signed peace agreements,” Galvez said.

Marcos, in his SONA, said the government would honor and fully comply with the remaining deliverables under the agreements with non-state armed groups, highlighting, as well, the major peace gains.

“And it is worth noting that he dedicated almost 20 paragraphs in the SONA on his administration’s peacebuilding efforts,” Galvez added.

“Sustaining the gains of the peace process is a responsibility that is shared by the government and all sectors of society." (PNA)
