CEBU CITY – Police arrested a 33-year-old woman during a buy-bust in Talisay City on Friday night, leading to the confiscation of PHP6.1 million worth of shabu.

Lt. Col. Epream Paguyod, chief of the Talisay City Police, said Saturday the arrest of “Rona” came after weeks of surveillance.

She was arrested near her residence in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

Paguyod said the suspect and her partner, identified only as one “Joe,” began their illegal business earlier this year, with the suspect in charge of the remittances from the sale.

Her partner, who remained at-large, is in charge of the distribution of one to two kilos of shabu weekly in three villages of Talisay City, the police said.

“We monitored their transactions, that’s why we were able to conduct the sting operation,” Paguyod said.

The seized drugs were sent to the Cebu Provincial Forensic Unit for testing while drug charges were being readied against the suspect. (PNA)
