AFP Reserve Command has new chief

MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines on Thursday announced that Col. Ferdinand Geminic Ramirez has been appointed to head the AFP Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM) effective Aug. 14.

Ramirez, a member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1992, assumed command following the retirement of Brig. Gen. Vicente Ronatay.

Ramirez served as deputy commander of the unit before his appointment.

He also holds a Master's degree in Public Administration at the Jose Rizal University and Master's in National Security Administration at the National Defense College of the Philippines.

AFPRESCOM is tasked with enhancing the operational readiness and capability of the reserve forces in alignment with the AFP's national security objectives. (PNA)
