CEBU CITY – Five kilos of suspected shabu were confiscated during a raid in Tagbilaran City, Bohol which led to the arrest of a relative of a drug personality previously arrested, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 reported on Tuesday.

The suspect identified as Robert Tiro, 42, unemployed, was arrested during a sting operation on Monday night along Binayran Road in Barangay Dampas, resulting in the confiscation of PHP34 million worth of shabu from his possession.

“Confiscated during the operation were five vacuum-sealed packs of shabu weighing around 5,000 grams with an estimated average market value of PHP34 million, buy-bust money, a smartphone, and a sedan,” PDEA-7 said in its report.

“This is a follow-up operation after the sting on Aug. 8, 2024 at Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City where two kilos of shabu was seized,” Leia Alcantara, PDEA-7 information officer, said.

The suspect is reportedly an uncle of Mark Niño Caliniahan who was arrested in Marigondon. He could dispose of two to three kilos a week, it was reported. (PNA)
