P4.8-M shabu seized in week-long anti-drug ops in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO5) reported on Monday that PHP4.8 million worth of shabu was confiscated from various drug operations in the six provinces and one component city from Sept. 9 to 15 this year.

Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said the 22 successful anti-drug operations resulted in the seizure of 706.17 grams of shabu.

“A significant highlight of these operations was the arrest of a high-value target in Camarines Sur, identified as "Domeng", who was found in possession of 525 grams of shabu valued at PHP3.57 million,” she said.

Together with the illegal substance seized in other operations in the province, a total of 539.88 grams of shabu worth PHP3.671 million was seized in Camarines Sur, marking a major victory in the region’s efforts to curb the spread of illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, 29.79 grams of shabu valued at PHP202,572 were seized in Albay; 67 grams worth PHP455,600 in Masbate; 37 grams valued at PHP251,600 in Catanduanes; 30.5 grams worth PHP207,400 in Naga City; and 2 grams valued at PHP13,600 in Camarines Norte.

No arrests or seizures were reported in Sorsogon during the period.

As part of the "Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Gusto ng Pulis Ligtas Ka" advocacy, PRO5 reiterated its commitment to protecting the safety of every member of the community. (PNA)
