MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the National University (NU) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to advance development cooperation between the two institutions.

According to AFP public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad, the agreement was signed by NU president Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr., and AFP deputy chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Charlton Sean Gaerlan at the AFP headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on Sept. 24.

“The partnership paves the way for a range of opportunities, including scholarships, internships, job placements, and other concessions to support the personal and professional growth of AFP personnel, their dependents, and NU students," he said in a statement late Tuesday.

Gaerlan said the MOA ensures that the AFP and the NUP are equipped to provide support and opportunities that contribute to the holistic development of individuals and the advancement of shared national goals.

"This agreement emphasizes the importance of education and sees to it that the continuing education of our personnel and the education of the dependents of our fallen and wounded personnel are taken care of. Maraming salamat sa (Thank you very much to the) National University for making this possible," Gaerlan said. (PNA)
