MANILA – Speaker Martin Romualdez on Wednesday reported that the House of Representatives has approved 60 out of the 64 priority measures set by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) in its Common Legislative Agenda (CLA).

Romualdez made the announcement during the 6th LEDAC meeting with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. held at Malacañang Palace.

"As of today, September 25, I am pleased to announce that the House of Representatives has approved 60 out of the 64 total LEDAC CLA priority measures," Romualdez said.

He further highlighted that out of the 28 LEDAC priority measures targeted for passage by the end of the 19th Congress, 26 have already been approved by the House on the third and final reading.

Of the 28 LEDAC priority measures, he said two have been enacted into law, four are ready for the President to sign, four bicameral committee reports have been ratified, two are under the bicameral conference committee level, 14 have been approved by the House, and only two remain under committee deliberation.

"We are targeting a 100 percent completion rate of these 28 priority measures by December 2024, or six months ahead of the end of the Third Regular Session,” he said.

Romualdez said the synergy between Congress and the Executive branch has been essential in fast-tracking key legislative measures.

He further pointed out that the collaborative work between two branches of government has led to significant progress on the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and the fulfillment of the Eight-Point Socio-Economic Agenda under the Medium-Term Fiscal Framework. (PNA)
