UE men's tennis team wins 2nd straight UAAP title

MANILA -- The University of the East men's tennis team bagged its second straight University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) title Saturday.

Led by national player Albert "AJ" Lim Jr., UE demolished Ateneo de Manila University, 3-0, before an enthusiastic crowd at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Josshua Kinaadman won the first singles match over AJ Rivero, 6-3, 6-2; Rogelio Estano and RJ Saga prevailed over Luke Flores and Erj Gatdula in the first doubles match, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3; and Lim scored a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ino Canlas in the second singles match.

UE, mentored by Numero Lim, defeated Ateneo, 4-1, last March 11 to reach the championship round with an unblemished record. (PNA)
