Demecillo to fight for IBA World featherweight title

DAVAO CITY -- Marco "Singwancha" Demecillo of Iligan City will fight undefeated Ongen Saknosiwi of Indonesia for the vacant International Boxing Association World featherweight title on Nov. 17 at the Batu, Indonesia.

The 29-year-old Demecillo (24W-8L-1D, 19KO) won against Mark Urvanov of Russia by a unanimous decision on July 13 at RCC Boxing Academy in Russia.

He earlier knocked out Romnick Magos of Cebu in the 3rd round on Oct. 24, 2018 in Tagbilaran City.

Saknosiwi (7W-0L-D0, 7KO), on the other hand, knocked out Nanthawat Maolichat of Thailand in the 4th round to win the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental featherweight title on Sept. 7 at The Ring Community in Singapore.

He also TKO'd Jufry Kakalure of Indonesia in the 3rd round on April 6 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The promoters are Urgyen Rinchen Sim and Raja Sapta Oktohari of Mahkota Promotions. (PNA)
