MANILA – A shear line and "amihan" or northeast monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies and rains over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said on Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Luzon, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to "amihan".

Cloudy skies with light monsoon rains will be experienced in mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.

However, moderate to heavy monsoon rains are likely in Cagayan Valley, where flooding and landslides are also possible.

The shear line will affect Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Oriental, with cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of Mindanao will be affected by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, and possible flash floods or landslides.

The eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will have strong winds blowing northeast while coastal waters will be rough.

Moderate to strong winds will blow northeast in other parts of the country with moderate to rough coasts. (PNA)
