Davao Airport congestion

On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the Davao International Airport (DIA) experienced congestion.

"There is already congestion at Davao International Airport Passenger Terminal Building caused by the system issue in Cebu Pacific, leading to delays and two flight cancellations," the CAAP said in a 6 p.m. advisory.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), operator of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), said only CEB and AirAsia Philippines were affected by the global technical issue.

CAAP and the MIAA said they have mobilized additional manpower to manage the queues at NAIA and DIA.

Medical teams are on alert, they added.

AirAsia Philippines said the outage is causing unexpected rebooting of machines, leading to some operational disruptions in check-in processes.

Another major local carrier, Philippine Airlines, on the other hand, said it is not affected by the software issue.

According to reports, tech giant Microsoft experienced technical issues late Thursday, and reported that cloud services have been restored on Friday. (PNA)
