DAVAO CITY – The Malingin family from Maragusan, Davao de Oro, was honored as this year’s “Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya” by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 11 in an awarding ceremony on Monday.

The Malingins, beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) since 2011, emerged as the grand winners, besting five other families in the region. They were awarded a plaque and a PHP15,000 cash prize for their exemplary values and contributions to their community.

The annual search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya celebrates families who exemplify qualities that inspire other 4Ps beneficiaries, showcasing how strong family bonds and positive Filipino values can thrive even amidst poverty.

“The 4Ps program helped us a lot, especially in my children's studies. Thank you very much for this program,” said Marcos Malingin Sr., head of the family. He shared that of their six children, three have graduated from college, two are currently in college, and the youngest is in secondary school.

“To my fellow beneficiaries, take care of this program. Use the payouts for your children’s education to help them achieve their ambitions,” Malingin added.

Meanwhile, Christine Jill Madelo from Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte, was recognized as this year’s Pantawid Pamilya Exemplary Child, receiving a plaque and PHP10,000.
